The handover was carried out by Spaldings CEO Paul Bray and the team, giving Robert Neill the chance to try the machine out around the yard.
From the outset, Robert was impressed by how solid the sweeper felt. The overall build quality stood out straight away, along with how smoothly the machine followed the ground — an important consideration on a farm where a lot has been invested in concrete flooring.
What Stood Out
One of the key points for Robert was how the sweeper is designed to avoid the metal bucket edge scraping against the concrete floor.
“We’ve spent a lot of money on concrete here, and the last thing you want is bucket edges scraping into it,” he said.
The floating head, supported by three solid wheels designed to follow the concrete, allows the sweeper to ride correctly over the floor.
A neoprene flap on the edge of the collector bucket also helps prevent the metal bucket from coming into direct contact with the concrete. Together, this setup helps keep the yard tidy while reducing the risk of scraping and unnecessary damage, helping protect concrete floors farmers invest heavily in.
Robert also noted the large 800mm brush as a key feature, delivering strong sweeping performance, along with the electro‑hydraulic angling, which makes it easy to reach out and clean neatly along edges.
