Insect Pitfall Cone Traps with Markers (Pack of 10)

Reusable cone-shaped pitfall trap designed for monitoring stored crops within grain stores as part of your Farm Assurance scheme.

• Recommended for monitoring lesser grain borer, flour beetle, rice weevils and saw tooth grain beetles
• The traps have a coated inside rim to prevent insect escape
• Can be used either at the surface of the grain or buried up to 50 cm deep
• Traps are supplied with a marker tag and string hanger for quick location and checking

For best results, the traps should be placed in a grid pattern 5 - 6 metres (16 - 20ft) apart, and set in pairs. One trap should be on the surface and one buried 8 - 15cm (3 - 6") deep. If the stored grain has been treated with insecticide dust over the surface, the pitfall traps should be buried at a depth of 30 - 46cm (12 - 18"). When used in small grain bins a single pair of traps can be located in the centre.
