Inspiring the Next Generation and Beyond.
Spaldings, committed to innovation for over 60 years, recently participated in the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society’s (LAS) Ag-Careers event at the Lincolnshire Showground.
Spaldings highlighted career opportunities and the future of agriculture at their engaging stand during the LAS Ag-Careers event. Alongside traditional farming elements, we showcased cutting-edge technology, including a 3D printer utilised to design new farming parts for agricultural machinery, which are tested during live farm trials.
Over 640 students, including those from agricultural colleges, interacted with Spaldings’ staff, gaining insights into industry applications of their current learning. Real-life experiences shared by employees inspired students and paved potential career paths.
The LAS Farming Conference, themed around Biodiversity and Carbon, featured insights from six speakers, including discussions on the Future Farming and Countryside Programme (FFCP).
Notably, speakers explored strategies to reduce carbon footprint, such as stacking, bundling, and sequencing. The Q&A sessions allowed direct interaction with farmers, emphasising the importance of managing farms under new environmental land management schemes. By leveraging financial incentives and implementing practices like cover crops, the narrative aims to offset emissions and enhance yield for the benefit of farmers.
The event also provided a snowy opportunity to connect with both our existing and new customers, discussing their upcoming year and how Spaldings can be of assistance.
